Default 37s vs 38s

I like the look of 37s but only when they have a width of 13.5 or greater. the 37 x 12.5s just don't look proportionate to me. I know, its a matter of opinion. I notice that most 38s come in 14.5 width which seems to be a better looking tire. does anyone have a side by side comparison of what the BFG KM2's look like between the 37x 12.5 and the 38x 14.5 both looks wise, weight wise, cost wise? I think the 38" bfg km2's probably still weigh less than some 37" tires but I don't know where to find the info.

thanks

Send a PM to Discount Tire Direct. I'm sure they have a few options laying around, and are generally pretty helpful to forum members. If you play your cards right, they just might even offer to sell you your next set...

I'm sure you know this, unless you have a heavily modified axle you are going to bend your 'C's, if not the 'C's the ball joints, if not the ball joints, the axle tubes and your front end will look like this It was happening with my front Rubi 44 that had the gussets, running 37 by 13.5 TOYO MT, but these are crazy heavy. I agree the 37 by 12.5 next to my 13.5 looked weak, 12.5 is out of proportion. Isn't bigger always better?

I'm pretty sure that a 38" bfg Km2 is probably smaller and lighter than the 37" toyo unless they've changed them. I'm positive that its lighter which should be less stress on the components. I wheel agressively enough that I was pulling my front end out aligment monthly which is why I got the Rock Krawler tie rod and haven't had problems yet. I think stock axles will be fine as long as I do gussets and sleeves.

I believe most people stay with the 35s, 37s and 40s.

There are a couple guys here running the 38x14.50 KM2's, do a search and you should find them. Btw I do too love the look of those and will prolly make them my next tire choice but damn that price difference almost makes me think twice about it. Almost 200$ more per tire. I'll see if I can't find some pics.
