if you want to go with a wider tire go 38s not gunna be that much of a difference stress wise then the 37s meaning that if you have a stock front axle and wheel it your gunna bend or break something sooner than later.

I think stock axles will be fine as long as I do gussets and sleeves.
38" KM2 is taller, not shorter than the Toyo 37". Toyos, like every other brand run short also. My 37s are a hair under 36. Having been parked next to a 38" clad KM2 rig, I can assure you the 38" KM2 is taller, and lighter according to all the websites.

thanks, this is exactly the feedback I'm looking for. according to 4wd.com, the toyos 37 are a true 37 whereas the rest measure smaller. not sure where they got their numbers. I wonder if there were more of a demand for the 38s and bfg and goodyear made more of them if the price would be more reasonable. it should only be about 50 more per tire over the 37s, not 200.

I wonder where they get their numbers too. I really hate it when people post false information like that also but it seems like many do. Then you get people seeing that and that is what fosters false information. Oh well.......

So yes, TOYOS RUN SHORT TOO!

anyone know where the best place is to get the 38s?
My other option is to get the 37s and pretend they are just slightly oversized 35's and just run them without a lift.
I've got the flat fenders and a 1.75" leveling kit, 4.5 " backspacing so with some minor pinch seam like adjustments, I may be able to run their 37's without a lift. I know that is a Planman favorite but has anyone else attempted to run 35s or 36's with just coil spacers? (I have 1" coil spacers in the rear to go with my 1.75" in the front.) I have approx a foot of clearance between the top of my tires and my flattie fenders so it looks like my only problem points will be the pinch seam and my front bumber but I can remove the end caps.

still can't get past how skinny they look compared to the rest of the 37s out there which is why the 14.5 width looks so good. Toyo and Nitto nailed it with their 37x13.5 size. BFG and Goodyear, take notice.

You will need more lift and to be able to run the 37's. Either that or you will have to seriously limit up travel. Trust me. I have 4" of lift, cut fenders, folded pinch seams, and still had to limit up travel to make 37s fit.

I wish BFG and the others would take notice also about wider 37s.
