3rd Brake Light - Let's See Some Creative Pics
Those custom lights look great.
I started with the Teleflex 3rd brake light extension before I realized that the license plate had to be relocated too. Once I knew the plate was moving, my possibilities became limited. That's why I went with a "standard" offering from Warrior. (The wiring is anything but "standard".)
What I did do was add a backup camera to the plate illuminator mount below the plate. Not a big deal.
NOTE: Once you put on a 35" or bigger spare the rear window is pretty useless. I strongly recommend a backup camera. In fact, starting with 2014 model vehicle, backup cameras are mandatory standard equipment.
By using a 4-wire standard trailer plug at the spare I was able to power:
1) Brake light from wire that went to old brake light wire (under carpet above passenger tail light).
2) Plate illuminator from passenger side tail light.
3) Camera from passenger side backup light.
And still had a separate ground (to passenger side tail light). Quick and easy to connect/disconnect and water proof.
For the camera video signal I used the video cable supplied with the camera/mirror. I just gooped its inards with dielectric grease too.

I decided to fix both problems by using a Warrior spare tire brake light and license plate mount.
Warrior Products 2380 - Warrior Products Spare Tire License Plate Mount with 3rd Brake Light - Quadratec
The plate/light is easily removed with a single clip. I used 4-pin trailer light plug so the wires also easily disconnect but are water proof. (Dielectric grease helps on trailer plug.)
