I don't like how far my tire is out beyond the flares with my 285/75R17 BFG MT KM2s and 9" wheels with 4.5" backspacing. If I drive on a wet street I get dirty water splashes on the doors. And there's hardly any sidewall bulge to help protect the rims.

When I ordered the work done we talked about 8.5" rims. If I had it to do over again with this tire size I'd go to 8" rims and maybe 5" backspacing.

You really need to give a lot of thought to wheel size and backspacing for your particular tire size.

how about 4.75 bs if Im going up to a 33 tire (Im looking at procomp 7069 wheels)? Also will the change in backspace from stock 6.25 to 4.75 change the highway drive characteristics of my JKU? I drive fairly long distances to get to the offroad places I like and wouldnt want to sacrafice stock highway manners for nicer looking wheels. any advice would be appreciated.
