4.88 vs 5.13
Man, yet another gear thread.........lol
With 35's, most say to go with 5.13 if you have an auto, and 4.88's if you have a stick.........but since you mention pulling a 3240 lbs trailer, I'd definitly say 5.13's for you!
I have an auto, 5.13's, 35's and still wish I had more when I pull my 3500 lbs inboard ski boat

Sorry about that, but there are soooooo many gear question threads on this board its crazy!
I know you have a unique question with the pulling a trailer though, so I answered your post earlier with my opinion.....see above
I wouldnt worry too much about the rpm's, my mileage went up 2 mpg when I made the switch from 4.10's with 35's to 5.13's.
Even though it turns more rpm on the highway, it doesnt have to down shift as much to maintain speed, which in turn helps the mpg more.
With the stick you wouldnt have that problem, so it just depends on how often you'll be pulling that trailer, if not so much, then 4.88's may be fine.

But is it going to be towed everyday, 24/7? Not really. 4.88 IMO, a little powerloss pulling a trailer never hurt anybody. Plus, it won't be for long periods of time.
Found this on Quadratec's website in their Knowledge Center. Alot of usefull info.
