4:88's
Well, I got my rig back yesterday after regearing from 3:21's to 4:88's. It is differenct using 6th as much as I do now, but really nice being able to move up a hill without down shifting to 2nd or 3rd. I plan on putting 35's on in the next few months.
Only thing that surprised me was the TJ I had to drive for specific times, not go over 50, and no 4-wheeling for 500 miles, and then I had to take it back and they re-tourqued and put in the final fluids. This time I was told to drive it without pushing it to hard, and no four wheeling for 500 miles, but I did not have to have it re-tourqued or anything.
Sound right to you guys?

don't know why you would have needed to retorque anything on your tj but it definitely isn't necessary or required. as you know, take it easy on the highway and on the trail for the first 500 miles, flush and refill and you're good to go.
Do you notice the floor getting considerably hotter than it used to at highway speeds? After I went from 3.21's to 4.88's my floor gets really hot now. Too hot to touch sometimes although I'm sure the 100 temps outside don't help at all. I have to run with the a/c on bilevel now to keep my feet cool where I didn't have to do that before.
I have not driven it enough yet to tell you. I do find it strange to drive so much in 6th gear, but love the change overall. I will watch this and let you know how things proceed as to the heat.
