  • 3" net wheel backspacing
  • move rear axle back 0.75" which required relocating the frameside axle bracket back, coil spring retainers, custom bent rear swaybar links to clear axle brackets, and rear lower coil wedges
  • generous trimming of the rear fender well
  • trimming of the front upper edge of the front fender well
  • I may eventually trim the back lower edge of the front fender well
  • PSC hydro assist steering
  • Dynatrac ProSteer ball joints
  • chromoly front and rear axle shafts
  • 5.13 gears (remember that I have a 6 speed)
  • front axle sleeves, gussets, and truss
  • custom rear bumper
  • longer bolts from the hardware store to replace the stock steering stops
  • Tom Woods 1310 rear driveshaft
  • chromoly tie rod
  • adjustable front lower, rear lower, and rear upper control arms
That sounds like a beast.

i just measured my spare tire carrier. i don't think a 40 will fit. it's a Hanson the only clearance issue seems to be the bumper. i think i can fab an offset though.

did you move the rear end back for tire clearance or to extend the wheel base?
my front end is already bent so i am going to put in a PR44 and RCV.
i just put hardened shafts in the rear end.

see this is what i mean. i am almost there with what i am already doing for the 37's.

I Brainfuck myself over this crap too much.

Planman rear wheel position looks great. the whole thing looks really good. i probably have 6 months to think about this.

i think i will put my gears in and see what i think of my throttle response on a day to day basis. i drive this almost everyday. (but i don't have to)

Ha. I'm in the same boat. I am about to replace my D30 for a D44 with Chromo shafts and CTM u-joints. Also re-gearing. I was planning on going up to 37's for my text tires. Now I'm looking into gussets, outter sleeves, a truss, and thinking screw it...maybe I should go to 40's.

Don't need 40's for the rubicon on a four door. Did it a couple months ago on stock rubi 32's with a four door 3.5 inch lift. Need a good spotter and armor up! I plated the crossmember with 1/4 steel and covered the crossover. Plated gas tank with 1/8 inch after the trip. Destroyed stock crossmember on trip. Small tires make for a challenge. Winched one time.
