Suspension travel is important in rock crawling not just up travel. I would argue the exact opposite and keep the lift as low as you can and still be able to run between trails without bottoming out your suspension. With a 35" x12.5" tire 2.5"-3" of lift is the absolute most I would run. Keep the center of gravity low maximize your down travel. Trimming fenders or running flats will allow you to increase your allowed up travel in your suspension and is one of the best ways to do it. Moving shock mounts is another way to maximize your suspension travel so you can run the longest travel shock you can.
The 5160 is just a 5100 that has a remote res. It is valved the same and will perform the same unless you are doing dessert racing that really heats up the oil. Other then the bling factor of running a res the offer you nothing over the 5100 on the JK dd. They just lighten your wallet more.

I bought my coils and springs used so I got a good deal. Like he said before they aren't any different than a 5100. They do look cooler though lol. I also have the nemasis front lower shock mount. Keeps the shock out of a bind when articulating.
