If you are running 33"s and it is dual purpose, consider choosing a different ratio other than 5.13,
Boy I get tired of saying this. You cannot compare your results with a manual to his results with an auto. The gear ratios are very different.

With his auto he'll be turning 2,700 RPM at 75 MPH with 33s. It should be near perfect for him.

I do agree if he had a 6 speed 5.13s would not be appropriate.

What's the difference between the install kit and the overhaul kit?

ok... well I don't want to max out my dana 30 so i'm starting to think 4.88. I just want to see a big diffrence than what I have now (3.73) for a mod that cost over 1200. I want a noticeable amout of torque gain 4.11's would probably do the trick.. but thats not enough.. I've talked to my local tire shops and every one who installed 33"+ were really disappointed with the amount of power loss... even rubi's with 4.11s. I also want to throw this out there I traded my 07 gmc z71 with 6" fab tech lift and 35" grapplers and It had plenty of power but the 35's were running it in the ground... thats why I traded for a jeep wrangler. And I told myself I would never put all that junk on my daily driver ever again... well this sucks, being I traded for a vehicle that begs to be modified...

Install kit = no bearings

Overhual kit = 4 bearings

You might want to find someone locally with a lifted JK andtalk to them and take a ride. I lifted my Liberty and is sucked big time. It was horrible. But lifting an independent front suspension is completely different than lifting solid axles.

I too really hesitated about modifying my wrangler because of the horrible experience with my liberty. But am I every glad I got over that. I'm running a 3" lift with 35s and it's awesome.

My local shop that did my gears called me and asked if a fellow jeeper who was wanting to regear could check out my jeep. I gladly met the guy up, and let him drive my rig. He was surprised how good the 5.13s felt, and he went the same route.

Talk to a couple local shops, and they may know someone with a similar JK that has been geared like you want to check out. It is worth asking.

Both my Jks are Autos and 513s are the Best set up for them. I f you live closer to Indiana you could try mine out. And Gears install is ALLOT CHEAPER! I bought the Gears and install kits (Overhaul kit ) and he put them in for 500 ASE certified!

5.13s, nitto mud grappler 35", Automatic. I went 5.13s cause I was going to go 37s after these wear out, but I love the extra power so I may just stay at 35". The 37s would bring me back to the same as 4.10s and 32s. I think the JK should have came a little lowered geared than it does... It really responds well to the higher ratio. I am in overdrive all the time now and it gets there really fast.
