also, I am running 34" tires with stock 6.25" backspacing just fine. I did have to adjust the turning radius stops so I ended up with a wider steering radius. In other words you'll be fine with a 5" BS.

I'm running 285/75R16 on Procomp 16x8/5BS the flat tread is still in the guards but the tyre wall sticks out about 1.25".

No rubbing when disconnected front or rear when fully flexed. works fine. In fact there is just enough room to go 315/75R16, have a mate with the same set up as me but running the larger rubber with no probs...

My Cragar rims have 5.00 backspacing. I think it works great, no rub even in full lock. I have 35X12.5 BFG KM2's. Plus they flare out just a little bit, which looks great IMO.

I wouldn't go anymore than a 4.5" backspacing at most if you don't want to rub control arms or sway bar. 4" is what I'm looking at next. I have stock wheels with 1 1/2" spacers and I rub like crazy. That means my backspacing should be 5", and it rubs horrible disconnected, stuffed while turning, and have a 305/70r18 tire which is pretty close to a 35x12.50.
