!5" wheels that fit Database!!!
When it comes to fitting a 15" wheel on a JK there's no set backspacing that will garantee it will clear the caliper. So rather than guess we need to make a list of those that are know to fit. Thanks to those who have 15's and want to share and to those who have found out the hard way that they don't all fit...
Please post wheel make, width and backspacing...if a spacer is required than post what size spacer. If any of these are not mentioned then it won't be added to avoid more confusion...also, this is not a pic thread as there already is one here....https://www.jk-forum.com/forums/jk-show-tell-33/official-show-me-your-jk-15-inch-wheels-thread-7758/

That's all well and good, but ALL 15" Cragar Soft 8 4" bs do NOT fit. It's touch and go. Also, the backspacing has absolutely nothing to do with whether or not the wheel will hit the caliper. Not one bloomin thing.

So then maybe there's different calipers on different models? Did you try to fit a soft 8 and it not work?

No, but several here have tried them and they did not fit due to caliper interference. Understand, I think your idea is a good one. I think wee need to know which fit and which do not, especially since the 15" swap is so popular. To answer your question, yes, I think there may be differences in calipers. I don't know for sure, as it seems neither does anyone else....and THAT is the entire problem. Look at the two posts above. One fits with 3.75" BS and the other with 4". All BS does is determine where in the wheelwell from inside to outside the rim will sit on the wheel center. Nothing more. Now offset, on the other hand......

"Now offset, on the other hand......", Isn't offset the same as backspacing?? A wheels offset is determined by the backspacing from what I understand. More backspacing and the wheel will sit father into the wheelwell, Less backspacing and the wheel will sit father out.

Note the difference in "rear spacing" and "offset". They are entirely different measurements.
