Hey guys, I am new here and have been roaming around getting all kinds or great info already. I just sold my 98 Sahara all done up and just today purchased an 07 Sahara with a 6spd and 4:10s, just what I have been looking for. Anyway heres my situation. I would like any info or advice on tire size with this set up. I am putting on a teraflex 2.5 BB and have already ordered 17x9 black addicts. My tire company is pushing me towards the trail grappler because i can fit a 295, but I am guessing they are very heavy because they are a load range E I believe. A 285 might be a bit lighter but I am not sure I like how it looks a little small. My biggest factor is that I will be towing my Polaris RZR (just over 1000 pounds plus the 5X10 Big Tex utility trailer. So I guess what I am asking is do you think the 295s plus the towing would be a bit much? I am not sure that the 295s not towing anything at all might be too much as well. Any ideas, thoughts, etc??? Really appreciate the help guys, and thanks to all for the great info I have already received on this site!!!

This is 285s I purchased about a week ago. Wish I would have gone bigger just hours afterwards. Live and learn.

u would be fine going with up to 35 and towing that amount of weight imo.

I run 37 1250 17's with a 6sp and 4.10's. Performance is adequate and I tow a 10x12 trailer with two atv's (4x4 honda's which aren't light).

I run 35's on our sport with 3.21's.We have a small travel trailer , no problem.

With a 2.5" BB, I'd almost lean toward just getting a set of 35's. You already have a good gear ratio for it with the 4.10's and 6-speed. You'll be glad that you did after you're done.

However - between your two choices, I'd go with the 295's. Here's mine - Teraflex Leveling Kit and Toyo 295's. (going 35's next, BTW)

Do you have a shot from the front or back so i can get a better idea if the tires stick out with factory flares and how wide they look?

Thanks guys for all the input. Its just that I will be travelling alot with the jeep and towing my polaris Razor behind it through the hills of Norhern Maine (some trips 5 to 6 hours away) and would really like to keep as much power as possible and still have a decent stance. I feel like i am kinda stuck with the Nittos if I go 295s because there isnt a lot of choices in that tire. The only problem is that I am not sure I like the idea of an E. Wont they be super heavy? I do like them a lot so that is one good aspect.
So all in all....You guys dont think I will lose significant power/mileage going with the 295 over the 285....??? , if i went with the 285s I could always swap them over to my tacoma if they dont satisfy me (Gonna need meats on the truck within the year anyway) but if the 295s are the better choice from the beginning i will just do that, the only thing that was really pushing me smaller was better mileage with the freakin gas prices....Thanks again guys!
