my local ace hardware has a nice assortment of stainless hardware including wing nuts. tractor supply might also, otherwise somebody online has got to offer them.

P.S. i'm asumming this in in the write up section because you're going to do one after you find the wing nuts.... i'd like to see what you're doing with the highlift/brackets you mentioned

Not sure if you have access to a welder or not but maybe as a last resort find a nut the size you want that fits and weld some tabs to it to make it a wing nut never tried this but it was thew first thing that came to mind. Hope you figure it out.

That is a difficult part to find. However, I have two options for you.....

(1) get a stainless wing nut that is smaller in size and tap a 7/16-20 hole

(2) get a plastic or metal Clamping Knob and tap a hole. Even Clamping knobs are hard to find in 7/16 fine thread

thanks for the input guys, but, I have found a way to do what I want to do, I am going to drill in the threads and do a pin , that way it's faster and easier to undo rather than unscew the wingnut I just have to pull the pin. Thanks to JKKat , I saw what was done with the pin...thanks again
