Default 8K or 10K lb winch?

I have been looking at getting a winch for my 2012 JKUS. I just picked up a Posion Spyder brawler lite front bumper and its telling me I need one.

I have searched and read many post and some say 8000 lb is ok, but you can use a snatch block to get extra pounds. I'm working on a limited budget about $500. I know the brands, but what size?

Thanks for any help!

You ought to go with a 10k because of the weight of the unlimited.

I just bought a 10k, because I figured the extra pulling power would help out with the weight of the Unlimited, and everything I add to it.

Truck and Winch has a great deal on the 10,500 pound Recon with synthetic line. A few guys in my club have them and are happy with them.

I went with a mile marker sec8 scout with synthetic line rated at 8000 lbs cost me under 500 shipped from a vendor on here, Chris from Jeep add-ons I think his name was. Very nice, capable winch, and name brand.

Usually 8k is fine for a 2 door & the 10k for the 4

I have the Recon winch. Works great. I like the wireless remote that come with it.
