If the AFE were available when I bought my Airaid I probably would have gotten it and kept the stock box, so in your case that would be the route I would go. As for the concept of the oiled filters clogging up real fast, it might be possible in the most extreme conditions, however K&N actually used to encourage a certain amount of "dirt" build-up to improve filtering, not sure if they still do so though. K&N filters do flow better than most others, which in the short-term does allow for more dirt to pass.

I went with the Airaid and so far so good, and have an Outerwears pre-filter coming to keep the pleats from filling up pre-maturely with dust when off-road.
