Default About programmers

What are the benefits to programmers such as the Hypertech other than calibrating the speedometer, gear ratio, gas octane? If I go to 35's , reset the speedometer for the tire change, or don't, will there be any other problems. Such as BAS/ESP issues?
Also, what other brands are available?
The Hypertech is around 400.00??
That seems like alot for a one time use .

The programmer changes your shift points. I got back some pep after the tire change. This is probably the best one on the market. The others do not do as much. If You need to take the rig into the dealer then you swap out the programs and put the stock one back in. Once the dealer is done you load back up the hypertech.
I put one in both the wife's stick and my automatic and it works well in both!

"One time use" ?
The Hypertech can be used as many times as you want, on the same vehicle. It is also a code reader.

Accupro by Hypertech is a simple model as you described and is relatively inexpensive. The Hypertech Max Energy is a programmer that changes also the computer for higher performance from a HP gain perspective.

how well does it work with a 6 speed? does it really change the engine dynamics ... or do you get most of the help on an automatic.

I will have 33s, borla dual exhaust, volant cold air intake and throttle body spacer .... what do you guys recommend. Looking for low end muscle, torque, acceleration ...... not really too concerned about the high end ... does that conflict to the new power signature of the dual exhaust, CAI and throttle body? or would it work well with that?

I can't really say if shift points change in the stick. I drive my Auto most of the time. My wife says that it is peppier than it previously was. The Hypertech helped immensly for low end on my automatic.
Also not mentioned, you put the program on your computer and can get updates. I installed the wifes then when mine came in I did the update and attempted to install in my ultimate. The load was unsuccessful...so I then hooked it back to the PC and it sent the code back to Hypertech. Within a week I recieved a new update which worked. I also contacted them and they were great to work with!

By one time I meant that once it's set for larger tires, gears etc. that's it until something else changes.
