Thinking about ordering one of these and removing my 35 off the stock gate as cheap insurance until I can put together the funds for a new bumper and tire carrier. Anyone have any experience with it? Good or bad? Also, what does everyone use to plug whatever holes in the tailgate are left open, like after you remove the rubber tire isolators?

 

Home Dept/Lowes have rubber stoppers that fit the bill. Dont remember the exact size off hand.

If you can't get the perfect fit I suggest buying small and wrapping the size with, electrical tape until it wedges in.

 

I picked up this plug from Lowe's. Fastener aisle in the pull out drawers.
