Default Adding one new tire question?

I have been doing a 5 tire rotation on my 5 goodyears MTRs for about 10,000 miles. I recently ruined a sidewall and want to add a new tire to the mix. Tires are worn 2/32 to 3/32. I would assume I am fine adding a new tire the mix with this amount of wear. Where should I add it, front, back? Which side? will contine with 5 tire rotation.

I always have added the new tire to the rear. With a 5 tire rotation, put it in the location where it will be on the gound the longest rather than having it rotate to the tire carrier on the 2nd or 3rd rotation

X2. I have been told by several tire companies to always put the new tire on the rear.

does anyone think that the tires are too worn to rotate in spare? I would think an 1/16 to 1/8 difference would not not be a problem. I am thinking of putting it on right rear.

I do the 5 tire rotation, and measure the tread depth of each tire. The deepest and shallowest are as much as 2/32" different. I have had no problems with that much difference.

I put it on right rear since with 5 tire rotation that will be last tire to be spare now. I bought a tread measuing tool, not sure what they call it, my tread was worn down 3/32s from stock, tire place said that was fine. tok for a ride, no noticeable difference, no ESP issue.

That's due to oversteer conditions and really is for when you do 2 tires and the remaining ones are half worn or below. Michelin has a video in their FAQs that explains it better.

In this case, I agree with the rest. 2/32" isn't a big difference and I'd also put it on the RR. Subaru vehciles are really bad about the size difference (worst actually, no more than 1/4" circumference difference officially), Jeeps not so much thankfully. Just don't run a 32" spare in 4wd with three 35" tires and you should be ok.
