Question Adjustable Trackbar or Trackbar Extention or Both?

Adjustable Trackbar or Trackbar Extension or Both?

Just so I have it clear,,,,,,

I think we can all agree that an adjustable trackbar is better than just a trackbar extension bracket.

The question is though,, is it better to combine the adjustable trackbar with the trackbar extension bracket?

Also,, which is better, a trackbar extension bracket on the axle end or the frame end? If there is any difference at all.

Any help from the group would be appreciated.

with 4" of lift, i would recommend both as that will allow you to keep your track bar more level with your axles. in the rear, a frame mounted bracket is definitely a safe bet but if you get a relocation bracket that attaches to the axle, make sure you get one that is reinforced. currie makes a great one that gets welded in place and teraflex makes a great one as well that gets bolted in place. up front, i would go with a frame mounted bracket. IF you go with an axle mounted bracket, i would only go with the currie as it gets welded in place.

BTW - if you get a front relocation bracket, you need to make sure that you install a dropped pitman arm as well.

Thanks wayoflife,,

I guess I am going to get both,, my rear track bar has broken off the axle already and I have had a friend with a machine shop build a smoken hot replacement complete with a support very similar to the JKS one.
I had it welded on and reinstalled the Skyjacker relocation bracket.

Now I will buy adjustable track bars and look for a front frame relocation bracket . I am replacing all 8 control arms with adjustable ones as well and I already have the dropped pitman arm.

The drive ability with this lift as it is now is a bit too jumpy and nervous, way too much bump steer and when I hit the brakes hard it darts across the road.

Thanks again for your help.

The Teraflex front track bar relocation bracket is Awesome! It is a drop bracket and is very strong with an extra brace. It also comes with a new drag link which gets mounted on top of the steering knuckle to level out the drag link. This takes the place of the dropped pitman arm.

The dropped bracket and brace....

The brace connects to the opposite frame rail....

The new drag link mounted on top of the steering knuckle...
