Default Advice needed for 35's

Fellow JK owners, I am currently saving money for 35's, hoping to buy them in the near future. I am looking at the ATX Slabs (17x9) and Nitto Trail Grapplers (35x12.50). I am running a 2008 Jeep Wrangler X, so there is a D30 in the front. I live in Southwest Florida, so not much rocks or steep climbs, mostly just sugar sand and mud. While, the setup I am looking at may cost around $4000 (and I am up to suggestions on where to buy these), I am also concerned about the stock D30 with turning the 35's. I was looking at eaither the EVO C-2's and Magnum Sleeves, or the Artec Industries Armor Kit. Unfortunately, I cannot afford a ProRock D44 or I would go that route. Any input or suggestions on these setups? Also, which gears should I run? It is my daily driver and an automatic transmission. I was thinking 5.13's would be ideal. I know this has been covered time and time again, but I was hoping someone would chime in on this subject. Thanks in advance, and I hope someone will be kind enough to give me some kind of input.

Are you planning on later going to 37"
As far as where to buy not sure wherever you can get the best pricing.
As for the Evo c-2s for sure as far as sleeves probably not.
As for 5:13s yes and no I would look more into 4:88 with a Dana 30 bear in mind you will need to change the carrier on the front d-30

Thanks for the quick reply. As for 37's, I'm not sure. I am running a 4" lift and flat flares, so I have enough room. However, I doubt I will go that big. So, as of right now, just a 35. And this is probably going to sound ridiculous, but what is a carrier? Is it included with a master overhaul kit or an installation kit?

I'm on the west coast with sea level up to 2200' elevation on an auto and 4.10s with 35s and the old 3.8 engine. At freeway clip & over drive off my rpms are 2700~3000: right in the power range. So, I don't really have to regear.

Don't forget to budget for some type of carrier to take the hundred or so pounds off of the tail gate.

No the carrier holds the gear set, it is not expensive but keep in mind you will need one. I say 4:88 gears due to it being a Dana 30 and the ring gear size. Others may say different just my opinion . What flat flares are you running? Any pictures. I want flats.

Good point on the tailgate.

I would gusset the D30 and drive it carefully. Save the money on the sleeves and truss, and put it towards a D44, if you even need it. It may hold up, depending how you drive it. 4.88's would be a good gear choice for what you are running.

I am just running the Smittybilt XRC Flares (non-armor). They are cheap and the powder coating is not holding up all that great, but it doesn't really matter to me. I just like the flat style better. And they are really narrow. I will try to remember to take a few photos tomorrow. What would the fuel economy be like with 4.88's? And if I go with 4.88's do I still need a new carrier?

Thanks for the info. But in all honesty, I drive it like I stole it. But I apprreciate the info. I'm definitely going to look into the 4.88's.

I already spent $1600 on a rear bumper/tire carrier, but thanks for throwing that in there.
