AEV 3.5 level question?
I just lifted my JKU with the AEV 3.5 kit. The jeep looks amazing and rides great. I just have a stupid question, is there anyway to raise the rear up about 1/4-1/2"? The Jeep sits almost dead even on level ground and maybe lower a tiny bit more in the rear. I cant stand the Jeeps when they are higher infront than the rear. Any info would be great. I have also triple checked all of the components and kit, everything is installed correctly and had a thrust alignment. Thanks again for any hints
Measuring for zero rake is trickier than it sounds because there are so many ways to do it.. I've seen many agree that the best place is to measure the flat portion of the frame near the front and rear. The bumpers can have too much variation. 1/4" negative is hard to see or measure; even tire pressure could account for that difference.
My AEV 3.5" looked like it had it had negative rake for about the first month then things settled in place and it looked level.
I say looked because when I placed a 4' level on the hardtop when the lift was just installed, it was just a hair off being perfectly level. When the suspension settle in, it has a slight positive rake but looked level. When I added the AEV rear wheel carrier it looked level again.
I am also stickler for not having any rake but look at it this way:
1. It is impossible to have no rake all the time due to loading variables (steel bumpers, passengers, cargo, etc)
2. Level is a very relative term
3. Positive rake is actually good for MPG (aerodynamics)
4. Instead of focusing on longitudinal appearance, enjoy the vertical lift and lateral handling your AEV lift provides
