Check Step 9 of the install instructions for the kit, it explains the process of enlarging the holes so the cams will fit.

The existing hole is square, and will need to be extended toward the back of the axle (away from the axle tube) as shown in
Using the EVO bracket sounds like a good plan, instead of having to weld up the enlarged holes.

yep, that's how they work. you cut your axle mount holes into slots and that allows you to adjust your axle to have a bit more caster. it works but, if you wheel your jeep, it's not the best solution.

as far as the evo brackets go, i'm pretty sure they are only for the rears - NOT the fronts where your cam bolts will be installed.

Question :

AEV Nth 3.5" Premium going in about a week.

Options

1) AEV cambolts (read enough here to be concerned)

2) Just install Front LCAs from Clayton + AEV 3.5" ?

3) Install all 4 Clayton control arms (front/rear uppers/lowers)

Thoughts ?

Front lowers & rear uppers - or all 4 sets.

Just to be clear, if you want to do the bare minimum to avoid the CAM bolts, this is what you need?

4 door at that height, you'll want at least front lowers.

2 door at that height, you'll want at least front lowers and rear uppers.

All four sets of arms would be better, of course, if you can afford them.

Very cool, thanks! I have the 4dr and I think I will start with the front lowers and then add the others as I can afford them.

And be sure to check the FAQ and other threads concerning new driveshafts. Wouldn't be a bad idea to start budgeting for them also, just in case...

You have listed your options in increasing order of cost. Obviously option 3 is the best if you have budget, but option 2 is very good choice. I would only go with option for budget reasons or if you go offroad a minimal number of times.

I am running the AEV kit with the Clayton LCAs. I really like the design and strength of the Claytons, but I personally don't like giving up the factory bushings, so I opted to only replace the front lowers.

So then as i understand it :

- Front Lower Control Arms with the 3.5" lift and not needing to cut holes into axle.

- Rear Upper Control Arms : Once the rear drive-shaft is replaced.

- Rear lower control arms : Will give me my lost wheelbase back.

- Front Upper Control Arms : Not clear on why i need these - when i replace the front drive-shaft ?
