Default AEV Front/Rear Bumpers

Ow are your experiences with the AEV premium bumper and the rear bumper with the tire carrier? They look nice but how is the quality?

I got my rear bumper and tire carrier for less than $1000 so I can't complain but if I'd paid $1700 for it, I wouldnt have been happy. It's a pain in the butt to install with just one person. I think they could have made the installation less steps. My biggest complaint is rattles somewhere with the tail gate/tire carrier that have been hard to get rid of. The linkage that they use to hold the carrier against the tail gate is basically a handful of washers and parts from Home Depot - not what I'd expect for the price. Same issue with the water tanks. The pump kit is basically just some PVC pieces from home depot, it's even still white. If I had it to do over again, I'd have went with either a **** or ACE. I've actually thought of selling mine and switching if I can't get the rattles out.

i have the tire carrier and its awesome. mine is mounted using the stock bumper. the turnbuckle is actually well designed. if u don't like the washers you can make a simple spacer or find one at a hardware store. it is totally rattle free as it is with all of their customers....as long as it is installed correctly. the front bumpers are nice if u like full width bumpers.

I have the Milspec not the premium but I highly recommend their front bumpers if you choose a full width. I'd never run a different bumper after having this one.

I like mine, great look/quality. The rattle from the rear is common if it's not adjusted properly: https://www.jk-forum.com/forums/jk-t...8/#post3151587

It definitely isn't rattle free with ALL of their customers. Mine is installed correctly and it rattles. Mine lines up exactly as specified yet it makes noise. Don't assume that just because yours is fine, everyone else's is. Like I said, as a $1000 bumper it's fine but at the price they charge, it's a joke. If I paid $1700 for mine, I'd probably try to delude myself into believing it's great. It's a nice looking bumper but when it comes to the details, it's lacking.

Did you ever try an adjust the "pipe to plastic saddle" ? (https://www.jk-forum.com/forums/jk-t...8/#post3151587), mine appeared tight but it needs to be very tight.

I have the same exact setup and it is a solid, rattle free unit.

I usually say the harder something is to install the better the product.

The AEV Rear bumper and tire carrier is probably one of the best in the industry it shouldnt rattle at all. If you have any questions on it please feel free to give me a call.

Thanks
David

um...ok. i saw your post on the aev forum as well. u say it is all set up and installed correctly yet it rattles. that tells the tale right there. when it is dialed in it works PERFECTLY. it is designed to be rattle free. when I said ALL of their customers I also stated those who have it installed correctly(which includes proper adjustment). u said it was great and rattle free for the first couples months and now it rattles. it needs to be properly adjusted...that is all. u need to figure out WHERE the rattle is coming from. could need a turnbuckle adjustment, could be the set screw/bolt on the the tire carrier shaft, the tire may not be "squished" against the vertical and horizontal post enough. several members are offering assistance on that site as well. fyi the tire carrier is not $1700...the bumper is a completely seperate piece. I'm not trying to come across as mocking u so don't take it wrong. just hate to see a product that is great be thrashed over what is most likely a very simple fix... once discovered..lol
