you can't go wrong with this hood. better and stronger then the factory one. solves the hood flutter. yes rain will get into the engine bay buy it is always wet when it is rainning from the tires. I got mine painted myself.

My jeep is my daily driver, I don't really like the idea of water getting in the engine bay. Well I have till march to decide.

have you looked in the engine bay after you've been driving while it's raining? The only thing not wet when I pop my hood is the block itself and the intake manifold...everything else has some amount of dampness.

x2 plus when you go mudding or offroad and dirt gets on everything you have to hose it down.

+1......love mine as well. It feels MUCH more sturdy than the flimsy OEM hood. Took away my food flutter as well. I had mine put on when having the Jeep repaired from hail damage, so the body shop painted it mine to match the bright silver. Then I painted the vent grills in a semi-gloss black. I think it looks really nice.

Don't worry about the water in the engine bay thing, you are stressing over nothing

According to AEV:

"When we design a part like the hood, water management is a concern we take into account. Basically every part we make, we design so that it could go into the Mopar system without design changes, meaning that we try to make them meet OE factory design criteria. The snow/ice/water is not an issue with the hood, also remember that the engine compartment is designed as a "wet" area, meaning everything is sealed."

as for warranty it depends on your dealer
