I've had the AEV hood installed for almost a year. Living in the midwest where it rain/snows frequently, I haven't noticed any issues.

Does the vent near the stock intake cause any issues with not using a AEV snorkle?

Since this thread was brought back to the top, I guess I'll ask a question as well. For those of you that bought a pre-painted hood, how was the color match? And did the hood arrive in good shape with no scratches?

I don't know what issues you have in mind, but I've had mine on for almost a year (about 20k miles) through all sorts of weather and haven't had any problems.

I am planning to add a snorkle soon, but haven't been able to scrape together the cash yet.

No. You'll be fine with the stock airbox.

Love the look of the AEV Hood. On my wish list after new gears, shafts and rear bumper / tire carrier.

It is amazing how hot it gets in the engine compartment after just a short time crawling at less than 5 mph. Cool AND functional !!!
