Default AEV pintler wheel weights?

Hi folks. I am going to put the wheels on soon. I know the AEV wheels are "hubcentric". Do I need wheel weights in this case? If I do, can they be mounted inside the wheel, not the lip? Thanks for the input.

The weights will fit on the inside lip of the rim. You can not see them. When you get them mounted and balanced at the shop, just make sure you tell them to put them on the inside. I had to when I first got mine put on.

Yes, you still need wheel weights. I would have the shop use strips of sticky weights on the backside of they wheel Vs. the old style clamp on the edge weights. I honestly can't believe anyone still uses clamp on weights, but I still see them all the time.

Make sure you get your wheels dynamically balanced.

Some of these systems can indicate whether the weight should go on the inside or outside of the wheel.

Balancing a large tire can be challenging enough. Don't let the look of the weights interfere with doing it right.

hubcentric refers more to the wheel being centered on the hub, and not weight related.

Okay. Use sticky weights on the back side if I can, weights inside the tire if I can, but do it right. Yes? Thanks!

My Pintlers were also done on the inside. I just had the dynamic balance done and everything is much smoother over 55mph.

If you only have weights on the inside, then the wheels were not dynamically balanced. Dynamic balance requires wieghts on both the inside and the outside of the wheel. It balalnces the wheel horizontally as well as verically. Dynamic balancing is not the same as a spin balance.

If you use the stick-on weights near or at the center-line of the wheel, you get the same effect as dynamic balancing. Discount tire does a pretty good job of making the wheel weights work. I've had to bring my rig back a couple of times to re-balance, but when they are on, they are ON. Smooth as butta.
