AEV ProCal or Hypertech Programmer
I've just been reading about a brand new programmer that is looking pretty darn good. Take a look.

I just talked to a sales guy at 4 Wheel Parts and he said the Hypertech would boost my HP and torqe. I told him I have the auto and 3:73 gears. He said it would make my Jk run like it has 4:10 gears. If that's true it would be a pretty good deal if you're just looking for a small increase in performance and didn't want to spend $1,500.00 on regearing. What are your thoughts on this?
That sounds great. However, before buying the programmer look at posts herein and you'll see that some people have had serious issues with the Hypertech programmers. Just be informed and hopefully you'll get what you think you're getting.
Having owned the Hypertech I am skeptical of their claims. Plugged it in and never noticed much of an increase and I tried really, really hard to believe there was one. Just never happened. I recently purchased a Superchips as well, and out of the gate, boom!, more power. It's a new product so the feature set as advertised isn't complete, but more than happy with the power.
If you just want to do your gears/tires and speedo, the AEV ProCal is the way to go. If you want some additional performance out of the slothful 3.8 plus tire/gear speedo recal, Superchips.

Thanks for the info on the Hypertech. I'll probably stay away from it. I would hate to spend $400.00 and get no additional power. I think I'll look into the Superchips. Is there a certain model number for the JK?
NOTHING compensates for regearing. Especially not on these 3.8s. The AEV ProCal does NOT change any shift points for "performance" reasons, period.
The ONLY good thing about the Hypertech is the power output...BUT...you need to dump more money on premium fuel. The peak numbers were on 93 octane, not 87. On 87 octane, the numbers are lower...significantly.

I got the AEV Procal and I am for the most part happy with the results... the only thing I will say is that my (auto) shift points still suck
It did help, but they are definately still off. Doesn't bother me too much though
