just buy a new one most places can get you one quick. There is always a gamble buying used. I gotta say I cant fault aev on this one.

Problem is that my Jeep is locked to the current settings. Even if I buy a new one...it doesn't help where I stand right now.

The 'programmer' is locked, not the jeep. So having a broken procal locked to your VIN is meaningless, it simply means that you can't use it on anyone elses jeep. A new procal will over-write whatever is currently in there.
