Default AEV Snorkel install tips

Hey all,
Just ordered my AEV Snorkel! Wondering if there are any tips or tricks or no-no's you guys could point out about the install.
I don't want to f-up cutting into my hood...I only get one chance!

just like carpentry, measure twice and cut once. Make an outline of the template so you have lines to follow once you start cutting. Dremel or angle grinder with a cutoff wheel is up to you.

only thing I came up with that I didn't find on here is this....the brackets have no cushion on them so I ran some silicone where they meet up to the body of the Jeep. Let it cure completely so you have some cushion and it's not metal against metal.

Once you center punch your hood, there ain't no turning back.....muhahahahaha

I chickened out on the cut and paid an auto body guy to cut it like 125 bucks he charged for the cut. also may look to make sure hood does not put pressure on snorkel when you close it. mine was tight so i placed a small hard plastic under hood tips so it closes on that and not the srorkel

If you are using the Daystar hood latches.... Keep in mind it closes the gap in between the hood and fender alot more then stock latches. You may have to trim a little extra to get the hood to lay properly and not crush down on the snorkel
