Very cool. The Donaldson topspin could be a good alternative. It sure looks better than the fishbowl too.

So with the topspin would I have to do any modifying with the Aev Snorkel?

No modifying here.

See page 4. The H002437 is a direct replacement for Donaldson part #H001249 which AEV uses. Has sizes in the chart above also.

Only thing I'd recommend is, make sure you get one with a OD diameter a bit bigger than the snorkel "tubing". I have a 3" pipe and the topspin I got has a 3.02" diameter and required some shaving with a dremmel to get to seat right. Like stated above, the sizes are right on the chart. You can find them on EBay etc... I paid $65 shipped for mine...

The ram air works very well in rain, snow and large splashes and functions just like the diagram below! I don't flip my ram-air at all when it's down pouring rain or dumping snowing or even running my JKU through the touchless carwash. The only time I do turn it around is on very dusty FSR roads. It helps with dust control for the filter.

The diagram for the AEV works like it's states and I have had no issues of water entering the tube or into the airbox.

The snorkel is always nice for protection for hydrolocking... photos from last years Whipsaw run!

That and it looks like it wouldnt take much more than a quick rinse. Im jealous. I always have to get out the power washer and shovel here in GA. I've been in quite a few heavy rains with the snorkel down here, facing front, and no water getting in. I am debating taking one of those fine mesh bags they make for people to put over their fliters and putting it over the ram air head though. Bugs is one thing I do get a lot of in my filter now.

K&N makes a bag that slips over they're filters. They are water resistant and have great reviews... I almost went that route before my pre-cleaner went on... I'm not running a factory airbox, so I had to track down an in-line airbox...

Thanks for the responses! Does anyone have any pics of how it looks like on the AEV snorkel? I want to know how big it is compared to the fish bowl and if you still get that cool noise the fish bowl gives you when you rev.

TopSpin is 5x5 I believe... Yes, it sounds like a turbo when you shift...
