Default After Market Gear Ratio Selection

Does anyone know of a manufacturer for gears for the new JK "X"model????
I checked with two of my suppliers and they said it could be a year before they develop them.
A 4" suspension with 35"s is going to be gutless without some 4.88's!!!!!

The D44 and D35 have been around for a long time. Do a search for
"Dana 35" (or "Dana 44") and "ring and pinion". You will find gearsets
that you need.

I thought there was something different about the d44's in the JK. Can't remember what it was right now.

got this from "some where else"....

This is a direct contradiction to what DCX has said, both in their JK Launch literature, and in interviews with design engineers.
"the new Heavy Duty Dana44's feature larger pinion shafts, pinion bearings and axle joints, thicker casing and tubes, high pinion front, higher spline count rear...in fact these axles were so much bigger/stronger that the engineers wanted to rename them Dana 45's..."

so it that is the case then you can't just use the "old" 44 guts in the new JK's the 35's could be the same though ??

My thoughts exactly. One of the reasons I was thinking of going with 33's for a while or until I wear them out. My plan: 3" economy lift, wheels and 33" tires, wait for all the new bumper designs to finish popping up and then decide on those. By that time, if I am not broke yet, see if some new gears sets show up, and then move to 35's. Any thoughts?

Everything on the JK is different. The rear is like 26mm larger than the previous years and the front is a high pinion.
Dana isnt even manufacturing anything yet nor is Yukon. They said it could be up to a year!!! Looks like ill have to go with a supercharger to compensate

I would think you'd be fine with 35's. A 35" tire with the optional 4.10 gear is still lower than the stock 32" tire and 3.21 gear.

I thought the Rubicon only came stock with 32s. And it also has 4.10s

Rubimon, you are correct, the 32" BF Goodrich tires only come on the Rubicon, and the Rubicon only comes with 4.10 gearing.

Tough to wait for gears, bumpers, wheels... especially if you're only in BG status like me!!
