Default Aftermarket Tie Rod?

Can anyone recommend a good aftermarket tie rod. I see RE make ones? Any others out there? I need one that will work with a stock Jeep..

yup, just got a rock krawler chromoly tie rod and can tell you this thing will definitely be the last one you will ever need.

This is a shot of the bigger factory drag link TRE. You will need 2 of them...

and of course, what it looks like installed....

Honestly, if you've got a bent factory tie rod, don't waste your money on another and get one of these

I believe Rock Krawler makes a pretty beefy one.

EDIT: WOL beat me to it.

Yup, Eddie speaks da' truth! I also have the Rock Krawler unit for about two months, and this thing is straight RUTHLESS! You can seriously jack the Jeep up by the tie rod with this thing. No joke. Great part for a great price.

WOL,

Will this fit a stock Jeep? Is there a way to get greaseable ends for it?

yes, it will fit a stock jeep and i suppose if you could find the part number for a moog replacement, yes, you can get it with greasable ends. i just used the serviceless mopar draglink tre's.

Why the drag link ends? Why not the factory tie rod ends? Also I am very close with my RC steering stabilizer, I am wondering if this beefy tie rod would cause the SS to rub the draglink since Im not lifted.

the factory drag link ends are much bigger and beefier.

hard to say for sure as i have never tried it but i wouldn't think it would. your bigger problem is that the u-bolts you have now will most likely not fit over the much larger RK tie rod.

Then couldn't you use factory drag link ends with the stock tie rod?

As far as the SS doesn't it come with new U bolts for the SS? Are you running the Rough Country SS with it? I remember you did a write up on it.

The stock tie rod ends will not work with the Rock Krawler tie rod. I went with the Moog 1-ton ends: Part# ES-194R (similar to what you find on the old school Ford F250s)...and they work like a charm. And yes, you do get larger U-bolts to reattach the steering stabilizer.
