That is what I liked about it. No oil was the kicker.

I got that and maybe I read it wrong but you still have to oil it. Haven't noticed mileage being different, but it's got to be better then the stock maxi pad that was in there.

As for CAI's, I installed a True Flow XDI a week ago and there has been much improved throttle response and some Torque gain for sure, no more gearing down on inclines to keep RPM's up. As soon as I started the Jeep after installing it I could tell the engine was breathing 100% better than it was with the stock box. I havent even looked at mpg but tomorrow i'm going on a roadtrip, about 850 km's so i'll see then if there is an increase or decrease in mpg.
WOW, you obviously did something wrong or something is messed up with your JK because I have a Air Raid CAI and absolutely love it.

Unless the Quadratec add is wrong, it says "no oil." I will send it back if it has to be oiled.

I bought an AEM Brute Force intake, then took it off and got a K&N drop in.
The engine sounded awesome with the intake, but i felt like the bottom end torque was missing.

I'm lost what makes you say I might have done something wrong? My post pretty much says I love the True Flow XDI! Highly recommend it even though it is a little pricey.

IMO, avoid the CAIs. Do a search on "Hydrolock" and see how much more than just air can get sucked in.

I'm OK with my K&N drop-in. No MPG or HP gains to write home about, but it's a little better. I think the oil-soaked filter keeps any water that might get into the box from penetrating through the filter. At least a little better.

I just got off of the phone with Quadratec. A guy calling himself "Joe" (a likely story) told me that the one I gave the link for is definitely a dry filter. He added that they make a dry and an oiled drop in filter. I hope he is right.
