air intake
The open filter CAIs will not be a good idea if you plan on going through any deep water. I went through a puddle that was a little too deep and sunk my stock airbox. The filter got wet on the bottom, but it was a K&N so I rinsed it out and dried it off.
Well I know I don't want to deal with oil,,, and I know I like thoatier sounds,,, and I don't think I will be doing any real deep water rides (on purpose anyway). So I guess that might narrow it down a little. But to what batch?
They all claim to increase air flow better than the other. And I'm sure any would be better than stock.

Metal tubed CAIs will have that throatier sound and poly based tubes will perform better because of less heat transfer. Drop in filter won't perform much different than either, and if a dry filter is the way you want to travel, just buy the oilless AFE drop in.
i like the air raid just fine claims higher HP except for the XDI which says like 27HP or something like that. I know that is impossible so I never went with them at all. So far i will say that i notice a difference and like the sound, but the oil thing is a bit of a pain in the a$%

Trueflow is out of business anyway so an XDI isn't even an option anymore unless you can find one used or if a vendor still had one in stock. Personally I don't think CAI's do much for our JK's unless you combine it with a good programmer and cat back exhaust setup.
I wasn't aware, I know quadratec has them still and with a new design for the bracket for a more secure fit. I love it but if they are gone, oh well. I went with the air raid throttle body space and gibson cat-back split exhaust which has a great sound. Makes it sound like a v-8
