Question Air Intake?

I have an 08 sahara unlimited and I want to replace the air intake but I don't know which one to go with. Can I have some recommendations and reasons why or why not to go with a particular intake. Thanks in advance.

Unless you need a snorkel for deep water, I'd just leave it stock. If you must do an aftermarket intake, don't count on any real power increase from it.

Works fairly well.

I removed the stock intake totally and added on a 2.5" opening cone filter onto the throttle body and drilled a hole for the temp sensor. so far so good, gives a kick about 2000 rpm.

TommyG,
i have an '07 Rubicon and I put a Airaid system (includes modular tube) in it with the throttle spacer. I've noticed some fuel milage and low end pick up. Thought you might get on the fix......

Its mostly hype, you'll see a few people claim all kinds of power increase and mpg increase and then just as many who say they basically got no change. One change is you better stay away from puddles with one.

Just remember that most filter companies make very exaggerated claims about their products. With an aftermarket CAI you might see a 4-5 horsepower increase, and maybe a 1 mpg increase. You have to decide whether or not that's worth $200-$300 to you.

I want to get a True Flow XDi... mainly for the sound of the thing, but also because foam filters provide better engine protection.

This spotlight video on foam filters sort of changed my mind about all the gauze filters on the market... There's gotta be a catch though, right?
