I got a really really good deal on my airaid here on the forum. But, honestly the before and after was worth up to $200 to me. I have had some high HP vehicles. But, adding even 5 real rear wheel HP on our JKs when we are lucky if we ger a 150 HP at the rear wheels is still a bargain.

I say go for it, in my opinion it worhte the SOTP feel and DEFINIETLY worth the sound.

I want to get a True Flow XDi... mainly for the sound of the thing, but also because foam filters provide better engine protection.

This spotlight video on foam filters sort of changed my mind about all the gauze filters on the market... There's gotta be a catch though, right?

I put the True Flow XDI on my "08 unlimited RUBICON, Black, and I love it! The sound when u hit the throttle is amazing. But the power increase--though not extreme--is there, especially low end. As for mpg, well, my work is 1.8 miles from home. My gas milage sucks no matter what I do. But when I do go on the highway, I do notice a difference.

I say well worth the cost. (I also put the airaid TBS in...what a team)

...Ditto on the True Flow XDI! I have it on my 08 JK Rubi...Love it for all the same reasons! Here's another related question...I'm kinda new to the forum so wan't sure if I should start another thread...
Since installing the CAI, I notice a high pitch, intermittent whistle sound...took to the dealer and they said it was a "normal" sound made by "the air intake" on acceleration. They said that it probably is being accentuated by the CAI that I added. Does that sound right? Anyone else notice this sound? To me, it almost sounds like a brake squeal but doesn't occur with braking. I'm not a mechanic so was just wondering if this answer is feasible. Thanks! DrJeepStr

Volant all the way. call any shop and they will tell you the same.
They are the only completly enclosed cold air intake systems so you get as little engine heat as possible.

Default K & N Filter

I just replaced the stock filter with the K & N high flow filter. I noticed some improvement in performance, mpg stayed the same.

The True Flow XDi filter is also completely enclosed. The difference is that it uses a 1" thick foam filter that stops more dirt than a 1/16" gauze filter. That's why many people use foam filters in their ATVs and off-road race rigs.

That XDI looks nice also. I guess any fully enclosed cold air intake will work just fine they all do the same thing. the main thing is to keep heat out!
