Default Air Locker question

I have a 2012 JK and am thinking of installing a set of ARB air Lockers front/rear. In my old TJ I had a set of Detroit EZ Lockers. They worked great on the trail and were ok on the street. This time I want something I can switch on/off however.

So with the Air Lockers, do you switch them on at the trail head and leave them on all day? or do you only switch them on when you think you are going to need them, cross said obstacle, then switch them back off.

Thats what I loved about the EZ lockers, they were on. I have thought about the OX mechanical lockers, now that they have a kit to make them electric. Just not real sure how well those electronics will stand up to being submerged and in the mud.

I really want to go with the ARB's, but i want to turn them on in the morning and then turn them off at night.

Suggestions please?

Thanks

I've known some guys to engage their rear axle at the trail head and leave them engaged all day. You might get away with that in a rear axle but never up front. Up front you'd wouldn't be able to turn. The locked axles would cause serious understeer if you could steer at all. You're far better turning them on just before your need them. Remember, selectable lockers are like 4 wheel drive, you need to have them locked before you need them locked.
