Default Airaid filter kit and a Superchip flashpaq installed....thoughts

Just installed the Airaid filter kit and Superchip Flashpaq.

That motor roars starting at about 4500rpm's, actually the sound was quite sweet!! I did notice a big differance in power right at take off from 0 to 20, then at higher speeds from say 50 to 70 when you kick it down, you can feel the differance....

The question remains now, do I get an exhaust system, not sure if I want the 6 banger noise, if it was an 8 I'll listen to it everyday.

Any thoughts on the best sounding exhaust? Not sure it will increase the performance..

I got the Gibson with the dual outlet. I paid $50 for it and a AEM Intake. The exhaust note is not unpleasant, but it's definitely loud. It's throaty...as much as a V6 can be...

No matter what exhaust system u go with, it wont sound like a V8, but i have the MBRP exhaust and it has a nice rumble in the low rpm range and does not really get that annoying drone in the higher rpms. I also have the airraid intake kit with the exhaust, and now the jeep sounds and feels like it has some balls.

I also have the Airaid intake and SC flashpaq. I love the combo. I too would like an after market exhaust adding to the performance with the Flaspaq and intake, but don't really want any extra noise. I grew up in the muscle car days and haven't heard a 6 sound like an 8 yet. So I don't even want to try. I was thinking about hitting up the local shops and asking them which one they think would do the trick.

So it doesn't seem that loud or have any kind of drone running down the road at highway speeds....??? I bet you know it when your step on it tho...

The chambered mufflers are closer in sound to a V8 with some lower tones. The straight through designs of Magnaflow and the like will perform better, but no mistaking that something other than a V8 is under the hood.

I too am running Superchips, Airaid intake, and MBRP exhaust...great combo in my opinion. It gives it a great rumble at low rpm's and is quiet at highway speeds. It sounds a lot tougher and more like a truck now...

Everyone, for the most part seems to love the MBRP exhausts...if you go that route you might as well get the "off road" version that relocates a smaller muffler under the body and tucked up high. Well for the 4 door anyway.
