Airing down???
I've read a ton on here about airing down and was SURPRISED to read that most guys go as low as 12psi. I have stock BFG MT and was a little nervous at 22psi. My concern was a side wall puncture more than loosing a bead. Any thoughts from anyone?
With my 37's, I run them at 9 psi for good traction and have had good luck not blowing a bead. As soon as I acquire some bead locks, I'll run them even lower
I was nervous too when aired down to 20lbs. I stopped being nervious after seeing nearly the entire weight of the jeep (JKU) supported by one tire when fully flexed and barely bulged. My are Toyo AT2's in eload.
14PSI on our 35" Duratracs. Any of the guys I'm seen cut a sidewall were running fully aired. I'm on my second set of Dura's and I do a lot of crawling over stumps and sharp sticks without issue. Just go slow and be aware of what your tires are doing/driving over

I learned the air down lesson the hard way... Punctured a sidewall because I wasn't aired down. I had always assumed it was mor for traction and figured I would air down when I started slipping. Never occurred to me that punctures were more likely at full pressure. Oh well, I got new wheels and tires out of it! :-)
34" Mickey Thompson Baja MTZ's...12lbs psi, 40mph all day long on the dirt roads. I run 12lbs often.
