Default alignment

so about a month ago i put a coil lift on my jeep. 4 coils. thats it. now im noticing that my front drivers side tire is wearing unevenly on the inside tread of the tire. could this be due to my lift or am i just due to have an alignment done. havent had one done in 2 years.

You will need adjustable control arms up front to do this...

a proper alignment. You can't just take a jeep to a shop. The wheels/tires do not adjust like a car.

They can:
Adjust the Toe In/Out
Re-center your steering wheel

They can NOT:
Adjust caster (cam bolts, ca brackets, new ca's)
Adjust camber (offset or adj bj's)
Level the swaybars
etc.

There is a good DIY Alignment write-up down in that area. (There is an index at the top). An alignment may not be a bad idea just so you can get all of the numbers, but then again, it may not be worth it because there isn't much they can do. Maybe just see if you can find a place that that does free inspections and will print out a report without you having to pay for the full alignment? But definitely read through that write up so you get some background.

yeah i saw the write up and honestly dont trust myself to do it. i figured it was a toe-in toe-out problem which i was almost certain could be corrected.

My buddy had this same problem on his 300C. I know its not a Jeep. His problem was excessive Toe-In.

So I took my jeep in to the dealership yesterday for the alignment. Said they couldn't finish it because my adjuster sleeves on my tie rod were seized. But they were able to f@*k around with it enough to screw up my steering wheel. Now my esp bas lights are on. They are going to receive an angry visit today.

So they were successful at getting your steering wheel off center but nothing else. I gave my dealership three tries to fix a front end issue which happend two days after I bought my used 07. They screwed it up everytime so I finally gave in and spent the money to have a knowledgeable shop do the work. Not the route I wanted to take but it fixed my problems.

assuming you do not have c-gussets installed, you more than likely have a bent c.

if this were true, you would most likely be seeing this tire wear on both sides, not just one.
