How about those Wrangler SRA's?

Nice thing about the Cooper S/T is you can stud them and a friend of mine got them sipped and studded and they worked out great for winter tires as they will last a little longer than a softer rubber M+S tire.

Another plug for the BFG A/T. Although I haven't run the other tires mentioned so not an educated opinion I guess. I just ordered another set for the JK and they work well for what I need them for.

Well,

At this stage I'm kinda leaning towards the Cepek, but am not too sure on the price. I was quoted by Les Schwab about $300 per tire, mounted, balanced and warranty. The Toyo, Maxxis, Mickey T, and Cooper were all in the same ball park but about $10-$50 per tire cheaper. These were for the 315/75/R16. I know Discount Tire is a sponsor here, and they have good prices, but the closest one to me is a bit of a haul. Should I keep looking?

That price for the Coopers is *WAY* more than I have ever paid here locally. I paid 170 each for my 32's, and was quoted 195 for 35's when looking for more streetable tires for my other jeep for when its not on the trail. I would call around to other tire shops.

Thats what I thought!

Here are the actual quote #'s for a set of four (I will buy 5)from Les Schwab:

All 315/75/R16

Cepek FC II: $1421.22
M/T Baja ATZ $1386.76
Toyo Open Country A/T $1266.25
Maxxis Bighorn $1221.51

To be fair, Les Schwab is not a dealer for Cooper and its sub-brands so the prices will be higher than a place that is. I did get a quote from a somewhat local Discount Tire for BFG A/T ( lost the quote paper) but it was in the same ballpark, if I remember right.

Thats double what I would pay locally.

And I would seriously just go to tirerack.com and look at the brands that they carry, as it will litterally be less than half the price, even after shipping and mounting. Or go to 4wheelparts.com and price them there. Again, they will be way cheaper (they cary the Dick Ceecs, which are a great tire).
