There is a Big O tire shot a few miles of here, I may run up there today and get some quotes. Last night I was doing some more online shopping and found the Cepek FCII for about $238 per tire. Shipping for 5 tires was about $190. That brings the shipped price to about $276 per tire, at my door, unmounted. By the time your figure the cost of balancing, stems and mounting, its close to $300 again.

How about those Wrangler SRA's?

At work we've got several hundred 4x4 pickups and all have to get out on dirt roads that get real muddy. We do not use these tires (Cooper S/T's) as guys have to chain up to get thru the mud. Chaining up at 2AM on a moonless night sucks. The STT is a far superior tire if you're going to encounter mud. In my opinion the S/T is a good looking road tire. Very few other companies around here use the S/T and the sales ratio of STT to S/T is huge. The S/T is quieter; but having said that the STT is the quietest aggressive tire I've ever run across - I'm on my fourth set on my work truck. Having said all that my JK doest not have STT's on it because the sidewalls aren't up to snuff and I've cut two of them. My JK is on KM2's which is a far superior tire to the STT. I wish they'd let me run KM2's on my work truck.

Yeah, but that is with Canadian money, which is dried seal blubber served with Molson beer (Joking, I can say this as I have MANY relatives in Canada, mostly in Alberta and B.C.)

All 315/75/R16

Cepek FC II: $1421.22
M/T Baja ATZ $1386.76
Toyo Open Country A/T $1266.25
Maxxis Bighorn $1221.51

To be fair, Les Schwab is not a dealer for Cooper and its sub-brands so the prices will be higher than a place that is. I did get a quote from a somewhat local Discount Tire for BFG A/T ( lost the quote paper) but it was in the same ballpark, if I remember right.

Man, that's hideous no matter what you take into consideration.

I paid $235/tire for 33x12.5R17 about 3 years ago. That is Canadian as well....basically you should find them for about $125/tire in US dollars.

There is a rep for Discount Tire Direct that posts on the forum. I would get a hold of him. Those prices you have are extremely high. Discount Tire Directs web site lists the BFG AT in 315/75/16 for $210 each with free shipping. The other tires you list might be a little more than the BFG's, but not that much more. I believe they will order stuff not listed on their website as well.

At first glance I thought those prices included new wheels as well. Then I realized it was just the tires

Derek, try Tirepackages.com .. I ordered from them 5 ProComp Xtreme M/T 315/75R-16 on ProComp Xtreme Alloy 7089 wheels installed, balanced, and delivered for $1650.

The single tire price was $225 ea but many times you will find that ProComp has the 4 for 3 promotion..

OK well never mind that deal. Just check online for you and the single tire price for ProComps has jumped to $282 ea for 315/75R-16 X M/T and 269.99 for X A/T with no discounts.

On another note A/T tend to pick up rocks and hold them due to their tread design whereas M/T has tapered tread blocks for better self cleaning (especially important in mud and snow) which do not pick up and hold rocks near as bad. My X M/T do hum on the highway but they are actually quieter then I had expected.
