Ok... When I replaced my axle seals almost 2 months ago, I noticed that my stock u-joint, in my stock axles on the driver side was TIGHT. Like it took effort to rotate the inner and outer in my hands. Psgr side was normal and fine. Reluctantly, I put that side back in and fortunately (knock on wood) nothing bad has come from it. My plan was to upgrade to chromo's and be done with it. ...my plan has changed.

So, now I am worried running like this and feel it is just a ticking time bomb waiting to blow up my ears/shaft. With Moab coming up, I feel like I should go ahead and replace my u-joint just to be safe. First of all, does that make sense to do? Secondly, it sounds like my only choice is the OEM Rubicon u-joint, correct? If so, what part # does it cross reference to? Also, with 40k miles on my rig, should I replace the other one too? I feel like I have basically cheated death that I havent lost a cap or something by now... Thanks!

Check here:
https://www.jk-forum.com/forums/show...highlight=axle The only thing not mentioned is to take care not to damage the locker sensor plunger in the back of the case. If you reinstall carefully, it'll be fine.

did you ever get your seals to stop leaking? what size or part # seal do you need with the incorrectly sized Superior axle?
