Default Almost done. Need some muffler help.

Finally getting to the end of a long list of mods i've been installing over the past two weeks. Even though I don't post here much I spend a lot of time reading and learning from what all of ya'll have to say. I made almost all of my decisions concerning parts from knowledge I gained from this forum. So thank ya'll very much for that.

While installing the rear bumper I couldn't find a way to fit the bolts though the middle of the frame. I thought I was going to have to do some drilling work to make it fit, so I figured it would just be easiest to drop the factory muffler so I would have plenty of room to work. After using a prybar and hammer I finally got it off, but I don't think I was able to retighten the clamp as tight as it was originally because i think that clamp is factory welded. I was already entertaining the idea of a new muffler so I figured this was a good enough excuse to upgrade.

I don't want something too obnoxious, But I definitely want it to be louder and better sounding than stock. I do not have unrealistic expectations because I know i'm upgrading a v6. I also don't expect any performance gains. The only thing I want is for it to sound better than stock. I spoke to a muffler shop nearby and he quoted me at around 140 installed for a flowmaster 40. He also quoted me 105 for a generic version of the same muffler. When a called flowmaster they suggested a go with the SUV 50 muffler because it sounds better on the v6. I figured something like the 50 Delta Flow would be somewhere in the middle.

I think the 40 would be a bit loud and the SUV 50 wouldn't be much of an upgrade. Would the Delta 50 be a good compromise? I've spent quite a bit lately on other mods so I'm trying to keep this under 150 or 160 installed. Hopefully ya'll can give me some input.

Thanks for all the help,
MG2013

i'm currently running the 50 series delta and it has a nice little rumble to it...not too loud not too soft. Sometimes I wish it was alittle louder, but I appreciate the lack of drone I get. Apparently its quite loud from the outside but definitely not the inside.

I just finished installing a MBRP OffRoad exhaust on mine. It is noticeably louder than stock. It does have a bit of drone when cruising, but not unbearable.

I went ahead and ordered the Super 50 Delta (formerly known as 50 SUV). He claimed it was a little louder than the 50 Delta. Once I get it installed I'll update ya'll.

I love my Dynomax 17523 exhaust. I did a write up awhile back, and i'm still loving it every day I start up and drive. Less than $100 shipped, and installed myself.
