Aluminum vs Steel Wheel Spacers
I am looking at the spacers for the JK:
1. Spidertrax-Aluminum 1.25 inch or
2. Terraflex-Steel 1 inch
The price is about the same, so which would be better with stock Sahara rims?

I did not vote because I don't really know which one is "better", but I have the Spidertrax and I am very pleased with the quality. Only thing is , I would get extra loctite because I don't think they give you enough.

first part yes, 2nd part no
aluminum+ salty roads = suckage
aluminum + steel = dissimilar metal corrosion
I would run the aluminum ones, less unsprung weight is ALWAYS better and its not like you are going to kill them. I have never seen an aluminum one fail.

Strength and weight, aluminum all the way. I had no idea companies still used steel. Nothing I would run, no reason to when the aluminum ones are just as strong, if not stronger. Also, the Spidertrax spacers are anodized for protection from the elements. I have had my Spidertrax for a little while now, and zero issues.

I know that the Teraflex info says that they are steel, but they look like machined aluminum to me. Does anyone actually have any of these? Is this a misprint? Here's a pic:

"The TeraFlex JK specific wheel spacer is designed for those desiring to retain their stock wheels, but use a larger tire. The wheel spacer increase track width to move the tire and wheel out for added clearance from FlexArms and body panels. These spacers also adapt the stock bolt pattern (5x5") to a 5x4.5?"or 5x5.5" bolt pattern for custom wheel selections.
The spacers are machined from solid steel and come with wheel studs pressed in. Additional lug nuts are included. "
