Default Am I missing anything?

I am considering saving up for a BDS 3" lift for my 2dr X.

I was thinking about getting the lift along with some lower adjustable control arms for the front from BDS. Anything else I should be looking at in order to avoid problems with driveline or steering? Would I be ok with cam bolts? I do NOT plan on going higher than 3" on my JK. I do not disconnect, ever. This is a daily driver and when I do have the time, I will hit some really mild trails.

Kit comes with:

"This kit comes with four new Pro-Ride coil springs capable of full coil bind, bump stop extensions, front lower control arm cam bolts, front Ultimate Sway Bar Disconnects, rear sway drop brackets, rear track bar relocation bracket and BDS 5500 series shock absorbers."

Added a steering stabilizer and black shock boots.

$812 bucks...

Lower fixed arms 124433 - $195 bucks.

So about $1,000 for a 3" coil lift with control arms. I paid $1,400 for a 3" lift with lower control arms and labor/alignment/tire install on my 2001 XJ from the same place.

if you get adjustable lower front control arms, you won't need the cam bolts and i would actually advise against installing them anyway. being that you have a 6-speed, your front drive shaft will be fine but you will need to get a new rear u-joint style shaft sooner than later as the steeper angle will cause your factory CV boots/joints to fail prematurely. and, with that, you will need to get adjustable rear upper control arms in order for you to set your pinion angle.

Might suggest an adjustable front track bar to center the front axle. With a 3 inch lift mine was off quite a bit.

good point. being that the kit doesn't come with one, this is something i would definitely recommend.

That's why I am asking now instead of doing it wrong the first time.

So:

add on

* rear upper control arms (BDS fixed upper 124448)
* new driveshaft (what kind? Coast or Teraflex CV style??)
* adjustable trackbar (front - JKS adjustable)

anything else? Seems like price will be in the $2000 buck range for parts.

Might as well just get a 2" BB from BDS with lower control arms and a 1" body lift.

Yeah. I could always get the 2" BDS BB with LCAs and then save up for a regear, 35s, and BL at the same time.

So with a 2" BB, LCAs would be all you need (in order to avoid cambolts?). I really would like new coils, but it seems that the 2" coil lift only comes for the 4 door, not the 2 door.

I would like to avoid flighty steering as much as possible.
