I'm personally going with a 1" BL and trimming the fenders when the time comes to run 37" tires. We'll see how that goes...

Check my profile for my current setup. I wheel 35" tires pretty hard with no rubbing.

The above is not true. Simply adding 1" BL does not need anything beyond what is needed for the 2.5" lift.

A total of 3.5" from a suspension lift is totally different than 2.5" suspension lift + adding a 1" BL.

If you added a 4" body lift (not sure why you would - just play along) the suspension and steering would not be affected. (obviously the steering shaft would not be long enough, but that's not what we're talking about)

hijack real fast.

Planman, in your honest opinion... which of your jeeps drives better? The coil over long arm 4 door? or the barely modified (well suspension wise compared to the other) 2 door?

I wondered because coil overs and long arms are known to have a great ride, but it is hard to beat the ride of a stock height jeep. The center of gravity is low, and all the control arms are pretty flat and stuff.

I suggested that instead of adding a 1" coil spacer, he do the 1" body lift.

Then regardless of which way he gets to a combined clearance of 3.5", to run wider than stock 35" tires, he will need front & rear extended bumpstops, and he will need either wheel spacers or aftermarket wheels with less backspacing.
You're right. I misread your post on my BlackBerry.

most complete... awesome answer ever.

ever.

I have been meaning to ask you since you have both complete opposite ends of the spectrum. Both of your Jeeps are bad ass rigs done almost as different as you can. Thank you for taking the time to type all that up. I think that is a great wealth of info, that anyone in the market for a suspension upgrade, and not just a "lift", can benefit from. Thanks man.

Oh btw... did you look at my profile before you said that about the tera 3" w/ flex arms and ome LT's? lol

It is crazy how well it handles. I had a 2" superlift BB (w/shocks) put on my jk when I got it with 33" tera grapplers. I got esp/bas warning sometimes and abs acting retarded. I have none of those issues now. I know that that is not from any magic tera springs... it is from having my caster right and my axles centered... but if you took my jeep for a drive and did not know before that it had 35s under it, there is no way you would guess. On the rocks it works exactly how you would think OME and tera would.

I have to drive my jeep everyday and it has to be reliable because I have gone back to college and cannot afford two rides or issues. I also have to drive a couple hours to get to the trails I bash my jeep on (and drive back home). Thise kit is doing a great job serving both purposes so far.
