Rugged Ridge goes stubby or full width in 5 minutes, but needs other protection for the sway bar motor. I vote Rugged with the E-1 Rubi-skid.
(The basic Rugged Ridge sells for $370 plus E-1 skid $200= $570)

Does anyone have any personal experience whether the LoD is more durable than the Rugged Ridge?

Consider the Smittybilt XRC vs the RR.....https://www.jk-forum.com/forums/jk-show-tell-33/woo-hoo-my-rubicon-made-4wd-com-85780/

The XRC is $499.99 right now (after $100 off) at 4wd.com or $479.20 if you use the 20% off coupon code from the 4wheel parts ad on the inside cover of the July issue of Four Wheel & Off-Road magazine. You can also ship it for FREE to your local 4wheel parts retail shop and pick it up from there yourself.

Easy front XRC install....https://www.jk-forum.com/forums/jk-write-ups-39/smittybilt-xrc-front-bumper-install-w-hid-lights-78848/

I like that bumper too, but how was installation of those fog lights? The thing I like about the RR or LoD is the use of stock Fog Light wiring? How is the XRC in that respect?

The XRC comes pre-drilled for two lights up to 9" in diameter (of course the bolt hole fits most any sized light but the pre-runner bar limits it to a 9" light). I had factory fog lights and actually wired my new lights into the OEM wiring since they were HID lights that run at 35watts each.

In the beginning I too wanted to re-use my factory fogs and actually went out and bought a $700 bumper (pic below) that allowed me to do that. After about 3 weeks I decided I wanted a pre-runner hoop and opted for the XRC.

I voted for the RR but just be aware that you can only drive on the street with the end caps if you have larger tires. when you are Off road the tires (some say 33's and some say 35's and up) will rub. I am not a fan of the mid width bumpers. They dont give the protection of a full width and they don't give the clearance of the stubbies.

I think the LOD stubby with the stinger is great looking as is the RR. The lod is nicely finished and made in the USA. The RR can be changed around daily if you want, Winch hoop, stinger etc.
