Hello, I am not trying to cut corners but Im also a dad on a budget. I recently purchased a 2009 JK and my main goal is to be able to go on mild dirt roads(maybe up to medium difficulty eventually) and take my young son camping. I want to be able to put bigger tires and clear rutted forest service roads with ease.
I am not cheap, per se, but dont mind saving a buck where I can. Is this lift worth considering or should I go with the quadratec option?
Option 1: I'm suspect of those parts. If you look up the Mopar JK 2" lift with Fox shocks, you'll find that the kit includes front control arms which seems to be missing in the photo. I have no idea what that bracket is for. And the sway bar links look to be stock to me. I'd pass on that one.
Option 2: That's a good kit. But as you noted, you'll pay for it! If you can wait, sometimes there are sales that might help a a bit with the overall cost.
Option 3: Also a good kit that saves a few bucks by letting you decide what shocks. I have nothing against the Rancho RS9000XL adjustable shocks. Run 'em myself!
I think you are on the right track for what you want to do. Since you are only going 2" there are many options out there. Just don't expect to run 37" tires!
Or just go with a Teraflex leveling kit, which is even cheaper. I've been running this on my '12 JKUR for 11 years and have taken it over some of the roughest trails of Death Valley. I did add skid plates 3 years ago, and between the 2, the only thing I won't tackle is boulder crawling.

I have the TeraFlex leveling kit - with the addition of front sway bar disconnects - as well, and am very happy with it. I just got back from Moab, ran Cameo Cliffs and 3D and was amazed with how well the Jeep did, even taking almost all of the more difficult lines. It was one of the smallest on the trails, but it went pretty much wherever I pointed it. Other than a dented gas tank skid (factory stamped steel) there were no issues.
I ended up spending double my budget when I got the Metalcloak true dual rate 2 1/2" lift, but much of the cost was extras, like armor and a new front driveshaft. I did get about 3" more wheel travel front and rear, which I don't think you can get with other kits ( look at shock travel)
The main thing I wanted to point out is that, if adding weight to your jeep, any puck lift will not help, and you will reduce wheel travel. You don't want to be hitting your bump stops with every little bump.
