Ok, I'm trying to decide between the Olympic 4X4 Extreme Reverse Bar for my 4-door Unlimited, and the Shrockworks that Wayoflife had on his rig. The Shrock's are solid, but heavy. My Sahara is a daily driver, that goes off the road with me and to anywhere I feel like going but I have no great aspirations of putting on anything larger than 33's and if rocks are there, fine, but I'm not going on safari in search of rocks to climb. In short, I'm not building a Krawler, but I don't want to crush my rockers next time I go to the jeep jamboree in Pennsylvania and do anything more than a 3 or 4 trail.

Can anyone offer some wisdom? I've heard the Reversa bars are vernicht for rocks, but I've got a friend in RI who has them, and they seemed to hold up. My wife doesn't mind any mods just as long as she can still GET IN which broadens my horizons.....a bit!! Thanks!

Do yourself a favor and spend the extra cash on the Shrocks, LoD, Pure Jeep, or another quality slider....you get what you pay for & it is certainly worth the added security while off road.

I'm all stock & not a rock crawler, but when you hear those rocks scrape your gas tank skid you'll wish you'd got the Shrockworks. I was shure hoping my TeraFlex sliders would hold up. (I've really liked my TF's).

No lift means more likely to hit you rockers on mild trails.

If you don't mind me asking, how did your TF sliders not "hold up"? I'm about to pull the trigger on these and I probably have the same terrain type you do, not many rocks to speak of, and no lift yet. Was it a catestrophic failure, or did they just get beat up? Any body damage to the Jeep?

This is good sound advice.

I second the recommendation off getting good ones. I'm pretty much down to the same list. (shrocks, LOD, PureJeep, or Hansen)

I have the Schrockworks, and they do take a beating. I even got stuck between two boulders, and they held up the Jeep. Just hooked up the winch, and dragged myself off. Also they stick out just enough to make a good get-in step. That's the one reason I chose them. Also, you can put your high lift under them and jack up your rig.

while the reversa bars have a purpose, they wont hold up to rockcrawling. Maybe minor trail riding.

Have you looked are Purejeep formed rockers? they'll definetly work as a step, and will hold up to anything.

Go with a pure jeep or other quality guard. If it fails the damage is going to be costly. So save money by spending money.
